Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2014 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Scenery of the Four Seasons by Zhang Hong. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 225,000.00 (€ 21,279.33) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zhang Hong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Studio by a Secluded Stream, which sold at auction in April last year for HKD 604,800.00 (€ 73,124.72).
