The »bidding war« ended at USD 18,750.00 (€ 14,847.96), 56% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Zhang Hong have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Studio by a Secluded Stream in April last year with an auction result of HKD 604,800.00 (€ 73,124.72).

Die Arbeit Recluse In A Misty Village von Zhang Hong wurde im September 2014 in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 18.750,00 (€ 14.847,96) und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Zhang Hong auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Studio by a Secluded Stream im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 604.800,00 (€ 73.124,72).
