Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
When the work Seven-Character Couplet In Running Script by Zeng Keduan was auctioned at China Guardian in Hong Kong in May 2016, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 10,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at HKD 41,300.00 (€ 4,773.52). Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Zeng Keduan; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Seven-Character Couplet In Running Script sold at auction in October 2015 with the realized price of HKD 47,200.00 (€ 5,514.22).
Kunstwerk zum Vierfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Seven-Character Couplet In Running Script von Zeng Keduan im Mai 2016 bei China Guardian in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 10.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 41.300,00 (€ 4.773,52) mehr als viermal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Zeng Keduan; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Seven-Character Couplet In Running Script im Oktober 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 47.200,00 (€ 5.514,22).
