Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Calligraphy by Zeng Keduan was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in March last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,550.00 (€ 2,298.75) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Zeng Keduan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Seven-Character Couplet In Running Script, which sold at auction in October 2015 for HKD 47,200.00 (€ 5,514.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Calligraphy von Zeng Keduan kam im März letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.550,00 (€ 2.298,75) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Zeng Keduan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Seven-Character Couplet In Running Script beobachtet, die im Oktober 2015 für HKD 47.200,00 (€ 5.514,22) versteigert wurde.
