This artwork by Lutanda Zemba Luzamba achieved an unexpectedly high price at Artcurial in Marrakech in December 2021. In the African Contemporary Art, Modern & Contemporary Art auction, the work I Scream (Ice Cream), 2021 sold for MAD 156,000.00 (€ 14,748.19) - well above the upper estimate of MAD 85,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lutanda Zemba Luzamba - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cigars, Cognac and Lemon, which sold at auction in November 2021 for GBP 27,720.00 (€ 32,545.89).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 84 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Lutanda Zemba Luzamba erzielte im Dezember 2021 bei Artcurial in Marrakesch einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion African Contemporary Art, Modern & Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit I Scream (Ice Cream), 2021 für MAD 156.000,00 (€ 14.748,19) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von MAD 85.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Lutanda Zemba Luzamba mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cigars, Cognac and Lemon beobachtet, die im November 2021 für GBP 27.720,00 (€ 32.545,89) versteigert wurde.
