Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2011 a collector was able to acquire the work Four Set Designs For A Production Of Boris Lavrenev'S Song Of The Black Sea Sailors by Yuri Ivanovich Pimenov for GBP 30,000.00 (€ 35,021.93). This price was achieved in the auction Russian Paintings at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yuri Ivanovich Pimenov achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work First Of May Celebration, 1950 in November 2010 with an auction result of USD 1,538,500.00 (€ 1,180,193.31).
