Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2016 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Asian Art, which included the work Burnt Umber & Ultramarine by Yun Hyong-Keun. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 1,000,000.00 – 1,500,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 1,062,500.00 (€ 125,034.21) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Yun Hyong-Keun have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Umber-Blue 7-IIII-75 in May 2016 with an auction result of HKD 4,600,000.00 (€ 531,674.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2016 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Burnt Umber & Ultramarine von Yun Hyong-Keun zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 1.000.000,00 – 1.500.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 1.062.500,00 (€ 125.034,21) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Yun Hyong-Keun auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Umber-Blue 7-IIII-75 im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 4.600.000,00 (€ 531.674,90).
