In April 2012 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century Chinese Art, which included the work Liu Hai Playing With A Toad by Yuan Jai. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 1,040,000.00 (€ 101,334.95), 30% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yuan Jai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work My Dining Table in April this year with an auction result of HKD 2,640,000.00 (€ 2,695,956.52).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 30 % übertroffen
Im April 2012 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th Century Chinese Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Liu Hai Playing With A Toad von Yuan Jai zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 1.040.000,00 (€ 101.334,95) und damit 30% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yuan Jai erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit My Dining Table im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.640.000,00 (€ 2.695.956,52).
