In May last year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings, which included the work Boating At Leisure by Yuan Songnian. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 68,750 (€ 7,267), 38% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Yuan Songnian have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work in April 2010 with an auction result of HKD 548,000 (€ 53,061).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38% übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Modern and Contemporary Ink Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Boating At Leisure von Yuan Songnian zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 68.750 (€ 7.267) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Yuan Songnian auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit im April 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 548.000 (€ 53.061).
