Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Calligraphy In Lishu by Yu Yue was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2016, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 50,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 187,500.00 (€ 21,124.68). Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Yu Yue; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Calligraphic Couplets sold at auction in October 2019 with the realized price of HKD 212,400.00 (€ 24,277.01).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Calligraphy In Lishu von Yu Yue im April 2016 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 50.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 187.500,00 (€ 21.124,68) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Yu Yue; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Calligraphic Couplets im Oktober 2019 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 212.400,00 (€ 24.277,01).
