A set of four hanging scrolls, ink on paper, the fourth scroll signed Qu Yuan Yu Yue, with two artist's seals Yu Yue chang shou and Qu Yuan Jushi, with a third artist's seal on the first panel Xian xing tian yu xiezuo jujia.

Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2021 Bonhams in New York held the auction The Reverend Richard Fabian Collection of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy III, which included the work Calligraphy In Clerical Script by Yu Yue. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,925.00 (€ 7,709.25) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Yu Yue - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphic Couplets, which sold at auction in October 2019 for HKD 212,400.00 (€ 24,277.01).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2021 führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion The Reverend Richard Fabian Collection of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy III durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphy In Clerical Script von Yu Yue zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.925,00 (€ 7.709,25) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Yu Yue mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphic Couplets beobachtet, die im Oktober 2019 für HKD 212.400,00 (€ 24.277,01) versteigert wurde.
