This artwork by Yu Yuan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in July 2020. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction, the work Hundred Birds Obeisance'S To The Phoenixs sold for HKD 1,562,500.00 (€ 171,192.88) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 600,000.00. This high result makes Hundred Birds Obeisance'S To The Phoenixs the most expensive artwork by Yu Yuan that we have observed at auctions so far.
