Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2007 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Chinese Art I, which included the work Old Lady by Yu Ben. The price achieved of HKD 132,000.00 (€ 12,359.30) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Yu Ben - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Catch, which sold at auction in May 2018 for HKD 400,000.00 (€ 43,701.80).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2007 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Chinese Art I durch, in der auch die Arbeit Old Lady von Yu Ben zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 132.000,00 (€ 12.359,30) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Yu Ben mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Catch beobachtet, die im Mai 2018 für HKD 400.000,00 (€ 43.701,80) versteigert wurde.
