In April 2007 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Chinese Art I, which included the work Fruit by Yu Ben. The result of HKD 120,000.00 (€ 11,235.72) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Yu Ben - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Catch, which sold at auction in May 2018 for HKD 400,000.00 (€ 43,701.80).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im April 2007 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Chinese Art I durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fruit von Yu Ben zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 120.000,00 (€ 11.235,72) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Yu Ben mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Catch beobachtet, die im Mai 2018 für HKD 400.000,00 (€ 43.701,80) versteigert wurde.
