This artwork by You Jin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Shanghai in September 2018. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale) auction, the work Daydreaming About the Future sold for CNY 1,080,000.00 (€ 135,302.01) - well above the upper estimate of CNY 600,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by You Jin; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Path - Backyard Garden sold at auction in September 2017 with the realized price of CNY 1,104,000.00 (€ 140,464.91).
