Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Modern Magic by Yinka Shonibare was auctioned at Sothebys in London in March last year. The price achieved of GBP 56,700.00 (€ 67,224.23) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by Yinka Shonibare have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Red Lantern Kid in December 2018 with an auction result of USD 325,000.00 (€ 283,694.13).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Modern Magic von Yinka Shonibare kam im März letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 56.700,00 (€ 67.224,23) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Yinka Shonibare auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Red Lantern Kid im Dezember 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 325.000,00 (€ 283.694,13).
