Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2014 Christies in Shanghai held the auction Asian and Western 20th Century & Contemporary Art, which included the work Fishing in the Morning 2 by Choi Yeong-Geol. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of CNY 100,000.00 – 200,000.00, the actual price achieved of CNY 125,000.00 (€ 16,320.83) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Choi Yeong-Geol - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Finding Spring, which sold at auction in November 2015 for HKD 437,500.00 (€ 53,434.48).
