Auction result well in line with expectations
The work SPRING PICNIC by Choi Yeong-Geol was sold in the Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 160,000.00 – 260,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 162,500.00 (€ 18,555.31) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Choi Yeong-Geol - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Finding Spring, which sold at auction in November 2015 for HKD 437,500.00 (€ 53,434.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit SPRING PICNIC von Choi Yeong-Geol wurde im Mai 2017 in der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 160.000,00 – 260.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 162.500,00 (€ 18.555,31) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Choi Yeong-Geol mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Finding Spring beobachtet, die im November 2015 für HKD 437.500,00 (€ 53.434,48) versteigert wurde.
