In November 2016 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale), which included the work WATERFALL by Choi Yeong-Geol. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 400,000.00 (€ 48,742.67), 60% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Choi Yeong-Geol; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Finding Spring sold at auction in November 2015 with the realized price of HKD 437,500.00 (€ 53,434.48).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 60 % übertroffen
Im November 2016 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit WATERFALL von Choi Yeong-Geol zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 400.000,00 (€ 48.742,67) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Choi Yeong-Geol; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Finding Spring im November 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 437.500,00 (€ 53.434,48).
