A top price for Ye Yanlan
When the work Lady Under The Tree by Ye Yanlan was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in May 2016, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 80,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than ten times as high at HKD 812,500.00 (€ 93,909.97). This high result makes Lady Under The Tree the most expensive artwork by Ye Yanlan that we have observed at auctions so far.

Als die Arbeit Lady Under The Tree von Ye Yanlan im Mai 2016 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 80.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 812.500,00 (€ 93.909,97) mehr als zehnmal so hoch. Dieses hohe Ergebnis macht Lady Under The Tree zu dem teuersten Kunstwerk von Ye Yanlan, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
