Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Scholar Taking A Walk by Yao Shou was auctioned at China Guardian in Hong Kong in May 2016. The price achieved of HKD 413,000.00 (€ 47,735.16) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 350,000.00 – 450,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yao Shou achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy In Running-Cursive Script in May 2019 with an auction result of HKD 36,692,500.00 (€ 4,199,446.59).

Die Arbeit Scholar Taking A Walk von Yao Shou kam im Mai 2016 bei China Guardian in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 413.000,00 (€ 47.735,16) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 350.000,00 – 450.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yao Shou erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running-Cursive Script im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 36.692.500,00 (€ 4.199.446,59).
