A top price for Yanagawa Shigenobu
In July 2019 Christies in London held the auction From Artist to Woodblock: Japanese Prints, which included the work The complete set of twelve shunga prints from the series Willow Storm (Yanagi no Arashi) by Yanagawa Shigenobu. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 7,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,234.50). With this result, The complete set of twelve shunga prints from the series Willow Storm (Yanagi no Arashi) is even the most expensive work of art by Yanagawa Shigenobu that we have observed at auctions so far.
