This artwork by Yan Lei achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2015. In the Contemporary Asian Art auction, the work Invasion (Back), Two Works sold for HKD 350,000.00 (€ 40,449.74) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 180,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Yan Lei - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Arrival: New York No. 1, which sold at auction in May 2012 for HKD 1,100,000.00 (€ 114,590.75).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 94 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Yan Lei erzielte im April 2015 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Asian Art wurde die Arbeit Invasion (Back), Two Works für HKD 350.000,00 (€ 40.449,74) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 180.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Yan Lei mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Arrival: New York No. 1 beobachtet, die im Mai 2012 für HKD 1.100.000,00 (€ 114.590,75) versteigert wurde.
