Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Baroque Olympia by Yan Lei was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 450,000.00 – 550,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 437,500.00 (€ 43,554.18). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Yan Lei - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Arrival: New York No. 1, which sold at auction in May 2012 for HKD 1,100,000.00 (€ 114,590.75).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Baroque Olympia von Yan Lei im Oktober 2012 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 450.000,00 – 550.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 437.500,00 (€ 43.554,18) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Yan Lei mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Arrival: New York No. 1 beobachtet, die im Mai 2012 für HKD 1.100.000,00 (€ 114.590,75) versteigert wurde.
