Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Studio of Luxuriant Greenery, 1894 by Xu Gu was sold in the Fine Chinese Paintings auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in September this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 83,050.00 (€ 78,467.50) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Xu Gu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Chrysanthemums And Peaches in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 6,700,000.00 (€ 737,414.15).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Studio of Luxuriant Greenery, 1894 von Xu Gu wurde im September diesen Jahres in der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 83.050,00 (€ 78.467,50) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Xu Gu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Chrysanthemums And Peaches im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 6.700.000,00 (€ 737.414,15).
