Upper estimate price exceeded by 89 %.
This artwork by Xue Song achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April last year. In the Contemporary Day Auction auction, the work Roscoe Mustard Garden sold for HKD 945,000.00 (€ 114,257.38) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 500,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Xue Song; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Rivers and Mountains After Snow—A Tribute to Wang Wei sold at auction in September this year with the realized price of CNY 1,260,000.00 (€ 163,095.24).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Xue Song erzielte im April letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Day Auction wurde die Arbeit Roscoe Mustard Garden für HKD 945.000,00 (€ 114.257,38) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 500.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Xue Song; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Rivers and Mountains After Snow—A Tribute to Wang Wei im September diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von CNY 1.260.000,00 (€ 163.095,24).
