Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Sun Zhongshan by Xue Song was auctioned at Phillips in Hong Kong in November this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 228,600.00 (€ 26,825.08). Admittedly, works by Xue Song have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Rivers and Mountains After Snow—A Tribute to Wang Wei in September this year with an auction result of CNY 1,260,000.00 (€ 163,095.24).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Sun Zhongshan von Xue Song im November diesen Jahres bei Phillips in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 228.600,00 (€ 26.825,08) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Xue Song auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Rivers and Mountains After Snow—A Tribute to Wang Wei im September diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CNY 1.260.000,00 (€ 163.095,24).
