Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2021 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Showcase: Otaku Redux, which included the work Mao by Xue Song. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 47,880.00 (€ 5,310.35), 20% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Xue Song achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rivers and Mountains After Snow—A Tribute to Wang Wei in September this year with an auction result of CNY 1,260,000.00 (€ 163,095.24).
