Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2006 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Modern and Contemporary Chinese Paintings I & II, which included the work Drinking Wine by Xu Zhao. The price achieved of HKD 48,000.00 (€ 4,821.32) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Xu Zhao have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscape After Ni Zan in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 250,000.00 (€ 25,738.23).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2006 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Modern and Contemporary Chinese Paintings I & II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Drinking Wine von Xu Zhao zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 48.000,00 (€ 4.821,32) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Xu Zhao auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscape After Ni Zan im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 250.000,00 (€ 25.738,23).
