Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2020 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work The Lizard by Xu Lei. The price achieved of HKD 327,600.00 (€ 36,284.37) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 300,000.00 – 400,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Xu Lei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Decent Of The Moon in April 2015 with an auction result of HKD 5,900,000.00 (€ 681,867.05).
