Artwork auctioned at four times the pre-set estimate
When the work Album Leaves by Xu Gu was auctioned at POLY in Poly Auction App in May last year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - price of HKD 500.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at HKD 2,400.00 (€ 284.93). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Xu Gu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Chrysanthemums And Peaches in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 6,700,000.00 (€ 737,414.15).
Kunstwerk zum Vierfachen des Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Album Leaves von Xu Gu im Mai letzten Jahres bei POLY in Poly Auction App versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 500,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 2.400,00 (€ 284,93) mehr als viermal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Xu Gu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Chrysanthemums And Peaches im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 6.700.000,00 (€ 737.414,15).
