Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work New English Calligraphy: Spring Dawn - Poem By Meng Haoran (Triptych) by Xu Bing was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2011. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 650,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 680,000.00 (€ 62,797.73). Admittedly, works by Xu Bing have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Living Word in April 2008 with an auction result of HKD 7,607,500.00 (€ 626,954.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit New English Calligraphy: Spring Dawn - Poem By Meng Haoran (Triptych) von Xu Bing kam im Oktober 2011 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 650.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 680.000,00 (€ 62.797,73) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Xu Bing auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Living Word im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 7.607.500,00 (€ 626.954,17).
