Auction result well in line with expectations
The work New English Calligraphy Series – Poem By Robert Frost (Diptych) by Xu Bing was sold in the Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2020. The price achieved of HKD 604,800.00 (€ 66,986.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 500,000.00 – 700,000.00. Admittedly, works by Xu Bing have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Living Word in April 2008 with an auction result of HKD 7,607,500.00 (€ 626,954.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit New English Calligraphy Series – Poem By Robert Frost (Diptych) von Xu Bing wurde im Oktober 2020 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 604.800,00 (€ 66.986,52) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 500.000,00 – 700.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Xu Bing auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Living Word im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 7.607.500,00 (€ 626.954,17).
