Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
When the work Spring Landscape by Xiao Sun was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2005, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 25,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at HKD 102,000.00 (€ 10,622.07). Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Xiao Sun; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Landscape sold at auction in November 2013 with the realized price of HKD 162,500.00 (€ 15,406.81).
Kunstwerk zum Vierfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Spring Landscape von Xiao Sun im Mai 2005 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 25.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 102.000,00 (€ 10.622,07) mehr als viermal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Xiao Sun; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Landscape im November 2013 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 162.500,00 (€ 15.406,81).
