Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
When the work Landscape by Xiao Junxian was auctioned at China Guardian in Hong Kong in October 2015, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 4,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at HKD 17,700.00 (€ 2,067.83). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Xiao Junxian achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pine Trees in April this year with an auction result of HKD 66,000.00 (€ 67,398.91).
Kunstwerk zum Vierfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Landscape von Xiao Junxian im Oktober 2015 bei China Guardian in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 4.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 17.700,00 (€ 2.067,83) mehr als viermal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Xiao Junxian erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pine Trees im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 66.000,00 (€ 67.398,91).
