In March last year Bonhams in New York held the auction The Reverend Richard Fabian Collection of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, Part V The Online Sale, which included the work Everlasting Pine and Cypress, 1930 by Xiao Junxian. The »bidding war« ended at USD 4,462.50 (€ 4,022.81), 49% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Xiao Junxian achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pine Trees in April this year with an auction result of HKD 66,000.00 (€ 67,398.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 49 % übertroffen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion The Reverend Richard Fabian Collection of Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy, Part V The Online Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Everlasting Pine and Cypress, 1930 von Xiao Junxian zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 4.462,50 (€ 4.022,81) und damit 49% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Xiao Junxian erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pine Trees im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 66.000,00 (€ 67.398,91).
