The work Eight-Character Calligraphic Couplet in Clerical Script by Xiao Huirong was sold in the Fine Chinese Modern Paintings auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2017. It achieved a price of HKD 68,750.00 (€ 7,401.98), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 43%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Xiao Huirong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Plum Blossoms at Dawn in May 2009 with an auction result of HKD 4,100,000.00 (€ 374,415.97).

Die Arbeit Eight-Character Calligraphic Couplet in Clerical Script von Xiao Huirong wurde im November 2017 in der Auktion Fine Chinese Modern Paintings bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 68.750,00 (€ 7.401,98) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 43%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Xiao Huirong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Plum Blossoms at Dawn im Mai 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 4.100.000,00 (€ 374.415,97).
