In November 2018 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Modern Paintings, which included the work Calligraphic Couplet in Oracle Bone Script by Xiao Huirong. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 75,000.00 (€ 8,465.07), 50% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Xiao Huirong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Plum Blossoms at Dawn in May 2009 with an auction result of HKD 4,100,000.00 (€ 374,415.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im November 2018 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Modern Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphic Couplet in Oracle Bone Script von Xiao Huirong zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 75.000,00 (€ 8.465,07) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Xiao Huirong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Plum Blossoms at Dawn im Mai 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 4.100.000,00 (€ 374.415,97).
