This artwork by Xiao Haichun achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2017. In the Fine Chinese Paintings auction, the work Mountain Stream sold for USD 8,750.00 (€ 8,179.10) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Xiao Haichun have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscape in May 2013 with an auction result of HKD 475,000.00 (€ 47,105.02).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Xiao Haichun erzielte im März 2017 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Mountain Stream für USD 8.750,00 (€ 8.179,10) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Xiao Haichun auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscape im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 475.000,00 (€ 47.105,02).
