Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2018 Christies in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Asia: New York Edition, which included this untitled work by Wu Yiming. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,500.00 (€ 2,999.14) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wu Yiming - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Man With A Club 2, which sold at auction in October 2010 for HKD 100,000.00 (€ 9,284.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Asia: New York Edition durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Wu Yiming zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.500,00 (€ 2.999,14) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Wu Yiming mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Man With A Club 2 beobachtet, die im Oktober 2010 für HKD 100.000,00 (€ 9.284,58) versteigert wurde.
