Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
When the work Untitled (Four Works) by Wu Yiming was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2014, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 15,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at HKD 62,500.00 (€ 6,434.56). Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Wu Yiming; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Man With A Club 2 sold at auction in October 2010 with the realized price of HKD 100,000.00 (€ 9,284.58).
Kunstwerk zum Vierfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Untitled (Four Works) von Wu Yiming im Oktober 2014 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 15.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 62.500,00 (€ 6.434,56) mehr als viermal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Wu Yiming; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Man With A Club 2 im Oktober 2010 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 100.000,00 (€ 9.284,58).
