Sold at the lower estimate price
The work Spring Mountains in the Manner of Zhao Ou'bo by Wu Weiye was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2007. The result of HKD 60,000.00 (€ 5,713.22) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wu Weiye achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Landscape in October 2013 with an auction result of HKD 6,670,000.00 (€ 632,948.36).
