This artwork by Wu Weiye achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2012. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Seven-character Poem in Running Script sold for HKD 250,000.00 (€ 26,043.35) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 90,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wu Weiye achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Landscape in October 2013 with an auction result of HKD 6,670,000.00 (€ 632,948.36).
