Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2019 Phillips in London held the auction Evening & Day Editions, which included the work Untitled, from Chaystre ou les plaisirs incommodes (Chaystre or Inconvenient Pleasures) by Wols. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,150.18) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wols achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sans Titre in February 2011 with an auction result of GBP 2,617,250.00 (€ 3,082,901.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2019 führte Phillips in London die Auktion Evening & Day Editions durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled, from Chaystre ou les plaisirs incommodes (Chaystre or Inconvenient Pleasures) von Wols zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.150,18) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wols erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sans Titre im Februar 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.617.250,00 (€ 3.082.901,53).
