Auction result well in line with expectations
The work White Chrysanthemum by Winifred Nicholson was sold in the Modern & Post War British Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in June 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 50,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 56,700.00 (€ 66,070.24) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Winifred Nicholson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work St Ives Harbour in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 245,000.00 (€ 289,075.91).
