Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern British Art, which included the work My Bedroom Window 48.5 x 58.8 cm. (19 1/8 x 23 1/8 in.) by Winifred Nicholson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 15,360.00 (€ 17,798.90) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Winifred Nicholson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work St Ives Harbour in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 245,000.00 (€ 289,075.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit My Bedroom Window 48.5 x 58.8 cm. (19 1/8 x 23 1/8 in.) von Winifred Nicholson zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 15.360,00 (€ 17.798,90) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Winifred Nicholson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit St Ives Harbour im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 245.000,00 (€ 289.075,91).
