In November 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern British Art, which included the work The Olive Tree by Winifred Nicholson. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 21,420.00 (€ 25,149.10), 43% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Winifred Nicholson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work St Ives Harbour in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 245,000.00 (€ 289,075.91).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 43 % übertroffen
Im November 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Olive Tree von Winifred Nicholson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 21.420,00 (€ 25.149,10) und damit 43% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Winifred Nicholson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit St Ives Harbour im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 245.000,00 (€ 289.075,91).
