Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Abstract sequence: Untitled (Variation on Axis gouache) by Winifred Nicholson was sold in the Modern British Art auction at Sothebys in London in November 2021. The price achieved of GBP 8,190.00 (€ 9,615.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Winifred Nicholson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work St Ives Harbour in November 2016 with an auction result of GBP 245,000.00 (€ 289,075.91).

Die Arbeit Abstract sequence: Untitled (Variation on Axis gouache) von Winifred Nicholson wurde im November 2021 in der Auktion Modern British Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 8.190,00 (€ 9.615,83) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Winifred Nicholson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit St Ives Harbour im November 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 245.000,00 (€ 289.075,91).
