This artwork by Wim Wenders achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in May 2018. In the ULTIMATE Evening & Photographs Day Sales auction, the work The Road to Emmaus, near Jerusalem sold for GBP 32,500.00 (€ 37,008.78) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Wim Wenders; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Lake Galilee before Sunrise sold at auction in November 2011 with the realized price of GBP 51,650.00 (€ 60,296.09).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Wim Wenders erzielte im Mai 2018 bei Phillips in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion ULTIMATE Evening & Photographs Day Sales wurde die Arbeit The Road to Emmaus, near Jerusalem für GBP 32.500,00 (€ 37.008,78) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Wim Wenders; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Lake Galilee before Sunrise im November 2011 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 51.650,00 (€ 60.296,09).
