Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Widening of the River by Wilson Irvine was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2001. The price achieved of USD 8,225.00 (€ 9,146.00) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Wilson Irvine have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Selden's Cove in March 2004 with an auction result of USD 59,750.00 (€ 48,608.85).

Die Arbeit The Widening of the River von Wilson Irvine kam im Oktober 2001 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 8.225,00 (€ 9.146,00) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wilson Irvine auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Selden's Cove im März 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 59.750,00 (€ 48.608,85).
